The purpose of this is to promote Danish industrial and decorative art.
The museum houses collections of European arts and crafts, Danish furniture, Copenhagen
porcelain, and Chinese and Japanese art, as well as an internationally renown
collection of textiles.

This museum illustrates the history of Copenhagen from the middle Ages to our
time, shown in a fascinating mixture of old and new museum techniques including
models, pictures and sound. In addition the museum houses the international S
øren Kirkegaard collection.

Technical museum housed in an original Russian submarine of the "Juliett"
class, built in 1964. The submarine was in active patrol service in the waters
around Denmark until 1993 and may have carried nuclear missiles.

Collection
of toys, including a Noah`s Ark which may be the oldest in the world (1790).
Toys made in Danish prisons, mechanical toys, dolls and some very old Christmas
ornaments.

The collection illustrates the
history of the Royal Danish Life Guard. The collection is displayed in the
200-year old Life Guard Barracks at Rosenborg Castle and in the drill ground from
where the Royal Life Guard march to stand sentry for the Royal Family.
