PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

The Railway:
The Railway plays a minor role in Liechtenstein; it only passes through a part of the country. There is a station at Nendeln as well as halts at Schaan MapPhotos and Schaanwald.

The Post Bus:
The post bus network is highly developed, with regular services to all the communities in Liechtenstein. The fare system is outstanding for its simplicity and most attractive prices.
Subscription tickets: A weekly ticket costs CHF 10.00, a monthly ticket CHF 20.00, and CHF 80.00 will buy you a yearly ticket.
Children up to 16 years, students and senior citizens receive these subscription tickets at half price. Family tickets are available for a total price of CHF 160.00, regardless of the family size; every family member receives an individual pass valide for unlimited travel during one year.
Subscription tickets can be purchased at the post offices in Liechtenstein as well as at the train station of Buchs/SG, Trübbach/SG and Sargans/SG. The prices given above are valid for residents as well as for tourists.
Individual fares: For individual rides within Liechtenstein, the post bus uses a two-fare-system. Rides up to 13 kilometers cost CHF 2.40, and those longer than 13 kilometers CHF 3.60. A return ticket Vaduz-Malbun, for example costs CHF 7.20 , a single ride from Vaduz to Sargans or from Vaduz to Feldkirch CHF 3.60.
For individual rides, children up to 16 years and holders of half-fare tickets pay half the price.
Prices are subject to change.
