Ask
for your Tax Refund Cheque:
This legal Tax-Free Rebate can be claimed
in cash at the frontier or at the airport by every customer who is resident abroad
(except in the case of visitors from EU countries).
Ask the shop assistant
to make out a Tax-Free Cheque for you (completed with your name and address!)
and to give you this along with the Tax-Free Envelope and the list showing every
location at which cash reimbursement can be claimed. The original receipt must
remain affixed to the Tax-Free Cheque.
At the frontier show your purchases
(which must be still unused) to the Luxembourg Customs who will stamp your Tax-Free
Cheque on request. Without this customs stamp you cannot claim the refund. If
you leave Luxembourg for another EU country before returning home you should ask
for a customs stamp at the point where you finally quit the EU internal Market.
Air travel: Prior to checking in you should go to the Customs with your
purchases and request the customs stamp.
Claim your Tax-Free Rebate immediately
at the Tax-Free Rebate Cash Payment desk at the airport or at the frontier. Alternatively,
you may claim your rebate by posting your Tax-Free Cheque-enclosed in the Tax-
Free Envelope-from the nearest letter-box. Repayment can also be claimed abroad
at any of the international Tax-Free agencies.
"Tax-Free Shopping" facilities
are in principle available in every country in Europe, although you should only
expect to find them in major cities and tourist centres.
